I can't help this week as to busy, can't we get the garage to collect it?, they may feel bad and not charge us, anyway the club has the funds, its about time we used some of them, the winch does not seem any better than it was before the service.

I think at the next agm we need to discuss the possibility of getting a brand new winch, and flog the collection of winches that we have at the moment, we only need two bits of eqt to fly, the winch and quad, having all that money in the bank does us no good at all.

there, thats of my chest

Spoke to the garage this morning and they have said get it back and they will sort it. When it first came back it was running better than it had ever run. I will get them to check out the whole thing again ,as we have paid for a full service.

Couple of quick comments:

Flog to whom exactly?  This was problem last time it was muted.  Suppose you may get £50 on Ebay for someone to muck about and kill themselves with.  Only reason I can see for selling would be to clear space in hangar.

Last time checked new winch was £10k+, more than we have in the bank.  Besides which, this is a new winch!  Let's find and fix problem; plenty of VW Golfs still on road (and reliable if you believe the adverts).

Winch is now back at garage. Don't forget to rethread the lines and
tension the guillotines.

I took off two parachutes (now on red winch by door), plus socket set,
crimping tool, wire cutters, weak-link string and jump leads, all left on
our plastic table.

Now we've got the hangar tidy, please lets' not start just chucking
plastic cups and other garbage back on the floor. Can anyone source a
44-gallon oil drum or similar but smaller container?

Joe, I Have a 45 gallon drum-any good. If you want me to pick the winch up when it's done i can do (just fitted tow bar) save you doing all the driving about.

Will. 45, 44, I'm not fussy. But it would be a good thing to have in the
hangar to keep it tidy. Bring it if you can. I'll chisel out the top if
necessary.

Let's see when the winch is fixed. It'll probably depend on who can get
there in opening hours. But if you want to test your new tow hook...

I have just the thing (45Gl drum-top sliced off) I will pilfer and bring it up next time and When it's full we can set it alight and pretend we are on strike
