SOME SILLY PERSON HAS PUT THE PADLOCK ON UPSIDE DOWN AND THE LANDLORD CAN NOT GET IN . KEITH HAS HAD A GO AT GETTING THE KEY IN BUT HIS HANDS ARE TOO BIG,  CAN ANYONE OFFER ANY IDEAS?

I THINK THE BOX MAY NEED SOME HOLES DRILLING OR A BIGGER CUT AWAY MADE, PROBLEM IS CAN'T USE POWER TOOLS AS THE ELECTRIC IS INSIDE THE HANGER!

HAS ANYONE GOT A CHILD WITH SMALL HANDS, IF SO PLEASE HAVE A GO

TEAM  WORK ,well done andyh ,we all have our skills to bring to the table ,guess your foetus fingers will come in handle again.

PS NOTE IF YOU ARE PUTTING THE PADDLOCK ON PLEASE MAKE SURE THE KEY IS AT THE BOTTOM, I  know it`s easier to fit the other way ,but you can n`t get it off [ unless you are andy,or a small child]

pps Note to self ,,if you are going to try and force your hand up inside the box make sure you have a phone handy in case it gets stuck.

many thanks Andy, I was thinking we might have to get the local engineering firm out with the blow torch.

When I am next at the hanger, I will take some tools and see if the hole can be made a bit bigger.

I think Mikes cover works really well, but If its a case of cutting a chunk out of the cover i have portable oxy/acy rig if you want to it, just need to check its full of gas.

I think I prefer 'dexterous digits' than 'foetus fingers' thanks  I can see it happening again though with that lock. It's much easier to lock it wrong way round as you can push the silver bolt on the lock upwards from underneath. If someones not thinking they'll go for the easy option.

May I suggest that if possible the key is inserted into lock befor putting in place, then it may be pretty obvious not to put it in lock up, there again................

Simple routines save trouble

Very well done Andy. I find it hard enough to get the lock off when it's key down, it must have been a proper @@@@@@@ key up.

drill a small 10mm or smaller hole in the top so a tool/pen can be used to push the lock closed.

this will then break the weather seal but a rubber bung in it will sort that
